What do you folks think about Palladium as a long term investment ?   Also, any opines on Palladium coins would be nice.  Ripley

It has had better returns as an investment than gold, silver or platinum in the last year.  It has about as widespread industrial uses as platinum so that bodes well for it as it is cheaper.  The reason I have not bought any is that it is not as easy to sell as gold or silver, simply because there is not a much investment demand.  But I would not try to talk anyone out of buying it if they want to.  I don't know much about palladium coins.

Thanks Floyd, I have been looking at some exquisite Palladium coins.  I guess, I'll just use the maxum, meltdown + 10% as a guide. Ripley

Doesn't Chinna make palladium coins? With a panda bear on it or something?

"Made in China" is not exactly the best recommendation for an investment.

I made an offer at meltdown value + 10%.  I got turned down.  The coins I am interested in are the Ballerina Palladium coins from Russia.  They are simply beautiful.  Traci

I use palladium in research, seems like it would be too reactive to be a very stable coin, but I suppose they coat it with something or perhaps you can't blow hydrogen over it in the presence of O2? Looking at the chart, seems it's at a major resistance point after being on a fire sale at $190 an oz. A break above $470-500 would portend an easy ride to the $1000-ish level. Interesting potential for speculating. Man, speaking of charts, I wish I wouldn't have sat on my hands when platinum traded below gold. That's got to be the biggest buy signal ever.

Fer sure gold $300, Plat $320, I remember those days.  But you figure in for inflation since the 70's and the price is about right.  Thanks for the Palladium update.  Traci
